The Spanish representative at Eurovision 2010 does not rule out trying again in the future
Daniel Diges, Spanish representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, lands next Monday, July 18, at the Teatro Lope de Vega in Madrid 's Gran Vía with the show Poker de Voces. He is joined by David Ordinas, Gerónimo Rauch and Ignasi Vidal, the greatest voices of the musicals in Spain .
Diges has already filled twice the Teatro Häagen-Dazs with this show. "It was something that came between colleagues. One day I got together with David Ordinas and proposed to him that we do something. I already have a second album with Warner signed, and besides singing alone, why not do something with them too. I admire them greatly because they are the best voices out there right now in Spain, and have starred in musicals like the Phantom of the Opera and Jesus Christ Superstar," Diges points for eurovision-spain.com.
"Talking to them – he continues – I proposed doing a show, which is done a lot in
The show that arrives at the Lope de Vega on Monday July 18 will feature interventions of Santiago Segura and Anne Igartiburu, the hostess of the latest Eurovision preselections. Also, Diges explains, it will be the last one with only them as producers, as one bigger producer is interested, and although they are still in negotiations, the goal is to make a tour across Spain , expectedly starting in Barcelona .
RETURN TO EUROVISION, WHY NOT?
Asked about a possible return to Eurovision, Diges doesn't rule it out. "In principle it is something to be lived just once, and I'm still enjoying my experience of 2010. But I think that in future I might even return. I don't think it's something that can not be done twice, although it may still be too soon".
The singer explains that someone would have to present to him a wonderful song once more, just as, in his opinion, was Algo pequeñito, which he fell in love with. However, he has it clear that he would do things more calmly. "I would need to feel the song, or even bring one of my songs playing the piano, this I would really like," he says.
For Diges, Eurovision was "something wonderful" that has allowed him to be recognized by "a wider audience, not just the one of musicals" in addition to recording a second album with Warner. "Many people come to Poker de Voces because they know me from Eurovision. To those who say that Eurovision does not help, they should swallow their words, because to me it couldn't have come any better," he says.
